10 Minute Morning Stretch Routine for Stiff Achey Back

Do you remember the last time you were able to wake up and bounce out of bed. . . with NO aches or pains?

Has it been awhile?

What do you do about it (besides internally curse growing older)?

My bathroom sink is ridiculously low (like mid-thigh height 😳👎🏼). Bending over it to brush my teeth provides instant feedback as to whether:

  • I slept weird

  • My pelvis and low back are out of alignment

  • I’ve been regularly working out (movement is like WD-40 for my achey joints)

  • I took the time to do a few quick stretches in bed

I used to just grumble about it or tell myself I’d squeeze in some time later in the day to workout. Sometimes that happened, sometimes not and the next day would be even worse.

Now, I make doing something about it a priority. I build 10 minutes into my morning to stretch, roll around on my foam roller and/or collection of balls and have my husband help me realign my pelvis if it’s rotated.

That’s it. 10 minutes.

It’s a game changer.

It’s non-negotiable and has become as much a part of my morning routine as brushing my teeth.

When I start my day this way, I FEEL better. It’s HARD to show up the way I’d like to for myself, my family and my clients when I’m in pain.

So I give myself those 10 minutes. . . the aches and stiffness get relieved and I also get to start my day feeling lighter, happier, more energetic and resilient for what the day holds in store.
