I am 55 years old and have never really done yoga before with any consistency nor willingness of spirit. I always felt you had to be young, skinny, and fit to participate. I attended my first Forrest Yoga class several months ago and was very impressed and comfortable with Lisa as well as her abilities to reach not only me but others. Her willingness to be vulnerable helped me to be present without judging myself as to what I could do or not do. Whether modifying poses, explaining breath work, to taking up space and living large, she makes the class challenging yet fun. I feel encouraged, supported, pushed and accepted exactly where I am.

Lisa is amazing. I am a 69 y/o ex-marathoner with the resultant tight hamstrings, spinal stenosis and herniated discs that one would expect. Low back pain has been a daily part of life for 20 years. Over the past few years, I have also had increasing generalized stiffness and decreased range of motion, attributable to “getting older.” I have done some stretching exercises taught by a physical therapist, to little avail.
I had never done yoga, but finally, at the urging of my yoga teacher daughter, found Lisa.
Now it is 4 weeks later. I have gone from never doing one yoga pose ever to working one-on-one with Lisa one session per week and going to 2 classes she teaches per week.
Results? When I awaken and rise, I am standing up straight! It has been years since that happened. Back pain has diminished. Entire body is less stiff and more supple. I stand straighter and am much more aware of my posture. I feel better!
